Pre - Sea Training For Deck & Engine Watch Ratings

The training program is a Three months Pre-Sea Training Program. The training comprises of theoretical and Practical study of General Ship Knowledge and Marine Engineering Knowledge which gives the successful trainees an opportunity to join the merchant shipping in the Deck or Engineering Department as a Deck or Engine Watch Rating.

Structure of Examinations –
This Academy conducts internal examinations during the course of training to gauge the progress of trainees.
The final examinations are conducted by the Academy and the trainee has to secure minimum 60% in each of the parts to Qualify. The assessment sheets of all trainees are evaluated by professional.

GOMA shall provide course ware and teaching material for the training. All trainees are provided an additional stationery kit.

Issue of Certificates-
All trainees will be provided the following certificates at the completion of course:
– Pre-Sea Training Certificate (Issued by GOMA)
– Personal Survival Techniques
– Personal Safety and Social Responsibility
– Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting
– Elementary First Aid
– Continuous Discharge Certificate (CDC)

Eligibility-
1)10th Pass – 40% marks (Aggregate) from a recognized Board with Science, Mathematics as subjects and with minimum 40% marks in English language.
2) Age – 17-25 yrs.
3) Eyesight – 6/6 (No color blindness).
4) Medical Fitness certificate (Approved DG Doctor).
